Our Beginnings
From Kimberly Mead, 405 Moms Club Founder
“Before I became a mama, I was a wedding photographer. But during a really tough postpartum, I decided to sell all of my cameras and equipment.
I struggled with PPA AND PPD, and gave up on my photography dreams.
It wasn’t until I started going to my neighborhood park with my son and met other moms in my neighborhood, when I started to feel more like myself.
With counseling, prayer, and my new found mama community, 18 months after the birth of my first son - I missed creating.
My husband brought home a camera from his work for me to use every so often. I began photographing moms and their kids, and sharing their stories on Instagram.
This blossomed into a small photography business. I created a newsletter for it called ‘The 405 Moms Club.’ Eventually, I hosted a day of mini sessions and invited all moms to come hang out in the studio, even if their photos weren’t being taken. I called it a ‘Mama Mixer.’
Our first gathering had over 50 mamas present, and we broke fire code in the building - it was filled to the brim!
Over the next 6 months, it became very obvious the 405 Moms Club was its own thing.”

“Turns out, moms everywhere crave connection and community, just like I did!”
“In August of 2023, I started a 405 Moms Club Instagram page and hosted our first free gathering at a local kid-friendly coffee shop.
We had over 20 mamas in attendance with their little ones.
That fall, I hosted our first-ever Mama Mixer & Market event, featuring over 50 local, mama-owned businesses, non-profits, and vendors. We had over 1,000 people in attendance, and the rest is history.
I wanted to keep hosting gatherings like the Mama Mixer for all moms to experience. I also wanted to redefine the word “club” and allow this community to be a space where all moms, in all seasons of motherhood, were welcome.”
